Awh….to think that right now I would be missing one quarter of my jaw, five teeth and some hip bone. Noooo!! I’m a Latina, I need my hipbone to shake it! LOL…
Like Shakira says, my hips don’t lie…and I’m glad they’re intact. As many of you know, I was diagnosed with an ameloblastoma a rare type of tumor in my jaw bone (yes, the bone! which takes 8 years to rebuild itself) and the only treatment available was to remove my jaw bone, then fill in with my hip bone and do three reconstructive surgeries at a nice price point of over $100,000….nine months out of the game…and I’m a speaker – can you imagine me not being able to talk? I can’t 🙂
So…during my journey I stomped (God helped a lot 🙂 into an amazing new treatment. I just finished all my blood tests as well as a bone density test and I’m in the last round of treatment so should have more information in about fourteen days.
The waiting game….oh the waiting game! It’s taught me so many lessons: To enjoy my journey. To thank God for the blessings in my life. That I have the most incredible husband Dave Ulloa. Â That God wanted me to be more present and not rush through life. Â That God wanted me to find some gifts, lessons and learnings along the way. Â That I was meant to help a lot of people who are going through painful times.
I am so thankful for this challenge I have had in my life. Â And I am so thankful to all of those who have helped me through the journey: Â prayers have created miracles in my life. I will update you soon on how it is that I found this treatment and the amazing people that have been by my side through the tough times.
Lots of love and gratitude…and more news along the horizon soon!

Thank God for you! Please keep me posted! I dealing with my Ameloblastoma with a 40 day fast. I am under the supervision of the brilliant Dr. Lodi of Phoenix, AZ. Please email me your results and I will keep you posted on mine. God Bless.
P.S. I had been trying to reach to tell you not to have the surgery!
Please excuse my grammar! I guess I was too excited typing from my phone!!!
:O)))
Hi Yvette,
Please excuse the grammatical errors in my first comment. I was so excited for you that I sent the message from my phone and did not proof read it! Lastly, I have a vested interest in your procedure. As I stated earlier, I was diagnosed with the same affliction in April, 2011. I haven’t had red meat in over 30 yrs., as of July it will be a year without poultry or fish, I don’t drink, smoke, or do drugs (not even aspirin), I work out and drink a gallon of water a day. I have never had any kind of operation or been seriously ill a day in my life ( I am 53). Suffice it to say I was floored by this affliction. Much like you, my first dentist did not catch it. However, they say they did catch it where it was small enough where they want to take a quarter section of my jaw out, connect it with a titanium plate and reconfigure it with bone from my hip! Sound familiar! Please keep me posted! Again, I am on day 23 of a 40 day water fast. I will keep you posted on my progress as well. (P.S. I typed this from my computer- better grammar) smile
Andrew, I was diagnosed with Maxillary Ameloblastoma 6 weeks ago. My tumor is so large that it is in my sinus cavity. I stand to loose my 1/2 roof of my mouth and my left jaw and my sinus cavitiy. Contact me at rick_roman@msn.com or facebook me at Rick Shifflet – Pasadena, Texas
how are you doing? did you have surgery?
Yvette — God is Good. Please keep me posted. Also, there is an alternative treatment at the University of Rio which employs cryosurgery to inject liquid nitrogen into the tumor and freeze it. Once the tumor thaws out, it dissolves and disappears!! I am patiently awaiting your results so that I can pray to God to order my steps as to what procedure to take in order to heal. Thank you so very much for your blog.

Hi Andrew,
I read your reply to Yvette Ulloa and I am very anxious to connect to someone like you. I was diagnosed a few years ago with ameloblastoma(large) and given the same prognosis. I have not had any surgery…tried to detox, bought a biomat etc. The most recent treatment as I felt it had grown, has been ozone injections. Please contact me if you get this. My email is beachhores@gmail.com and my phone no. is 757-575-8182.
Thank you and Bless you:)
Andrew please contact me, I have the same prognosis, and am searching desperatley for an alternative…757-575-8182, beachhorses2gmail.com
Hi Natasha…wanted to let you know I’m about 60 days away from taking X-rays finally after my alternative treatment…I know everything will go well and I can’t wait to have this info to share with you ! Lots of love and blessings
I have been battling with Ameloblastoma for 9 years. It was not correctly diagnosed as Ameloblastoma until a month ago. I’ve had 3 mild surgeries. This past year it seems to have re-grown with a vengenance. I like everyone else here am very interested in any alternative treatment. I tried fasting. I tried consuming almost nothing but wheatgrass for 6 months. None of this worked. I AM interested in the treatment andrew Ridgnal described at the University of Rio which employs cryosurgery to inject liquid nitrogen into the tumor and freeze it. Is there any further information on this or other effective surgical alternatives?
